A Divergent View... |
We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are. -Anais Nin |
Lisa Suzanne LaValle I was born in the rural Midwest in the late sixties. My mother was a self-employed jeweler who was extremely talented in many mediums including photography. My father is an engineer and sometime poet. It is from my mother that I learned to appreciate the arts. She often took me out of school to go on "photographic expeditions." We frequently found ourselves exploring abandoned houses and buildings. As an adult I naturally gravitated to taking photos of derelict subjects. I describe my photography as photojournalistic. I am fascinated by how objects weather and age. I am also curious about the possessions people leave behind. I relocated from Michigan to Tucson, AZ 6 years ago. |
